Pain Points of Traditional Transformation
Upgrading traditional smart homes typically requires wall chipping, rewiring, and is a complex, costly process with a long duration. This not only damages existing decor but also makes it very inconvenient to adjust the layout or add and remove devices later. Moreover, most solutions rely on additional gateway devices, leading to structural deficiencies such as configuration redundancy, complexity in deployment, and single point of failure. More critically, in a wiring environment commonly using single live wires, traditional Wi-Fi devices cannot maintain a continuous connection due to limited power supply capabilities, which becomes a key technical bottleneck for smart renovation.
Core Technology Architecture
The Yoswit whole-house smart upgrade solution adopts a 'replacement' architecture, which requires no wall dismantling or wiring. It can be completed simply by replacing the existing switches or sockets, truly achieving a non-invasive deployment. Its core is based on our self-developed Bluetooth/Wi-Fi dual-mode communication firmware stack, integrating ultra-low power management strategies, event-driven local control kernels, and device-side edge computing logic, to build a highly integrated, stable, reliable, and flexible smart control system through software and hardware collaboration.
The system device integrates Bluetooth (BLE) and Wi-Fi communication modules, adopting a heterogeneous collaborative architecture: BLE serves as the main control path to handle local broadcasting, near-field pairing, and Mesh networking functions, featuring low latency and high robustness for multi-node communication capabilities; Wi-Fi acts as an auxiliary path, activated asynchronously by BLE only in scenarios such as remote control and data reporting, avoiding the power consumption burden associated with long connections. The underlying protocol stack supports dynamic assessment of link quality, path optimization, and autonomous switching mechanisms in case of network disconnection, allowing the Bluetooth network to maintain the control link independently locally even when the public network is interrupted, significantly enhancing system redundancy and fault tolerance.
To address unstable power supply in single-firewire circuits, the system incorporates an ultra-low-power Bluetooth SoC and a capacitive energy-buffering circuit. Through dynamic power domain switching with subsystem-level power scheduling algorithms, the device maintains basic operation at microampere-level quiescent current. The Wi-Fi module utilizes a lightweight radio-frequency wake-up mechanism, activating high-power mode only when control commands or state synchronization are triggered. This enables a closed-loop power management cycle: “sleep → wake → communicate → sleep,” effectively solving the always-on challenge without modifying existing electrical circuits.
The Yoswit App enables remote control, scene management, and real-time status monitoring, supporting both local and wide-area connectivity and multi-platform synchronization. It natively integrates major voice assistants such as Google Assistant, Apple Siri, and Tmall Genie, and offers open API support for third-party systems including PMS, BAS, and security platforms. Utilizing a distributed sensing architecture, edge devices perform environment-triggered automations like turning off lights at night or activating lighting and curtains when entry is sensed. Designed with edge-based execution, the system ensures reliable and real-time responsiveness even without cloud connectivity.
The whole-house scenario framework is built on our self-developed lightweight rule engine, which supports multi-condition triggers based on state, time, and device interactions. Through the app, users can easily customize scenarios such as "Home Mode" or "Sleep Mode." This enables seamless cross-device coordination and one-tap execution, featuring clear logic and a low learning curve.
The system supports OTA updates, allowing devices to automatically download and install firmware for ongoing optimization and new functionalities—all without manual intervention. Even during network interruptions, the Bluetooth mesh ensures stable local device coordination and maintains reliable operation. With built-in compatibility for major voice assistants and smart speakers, as well as seamless integration with third-party security systems, the platform offers broad compatibility and scalability to meet diverse smart home needs.
